Student Loans

Find out more about the current range of bank loans for students.

There are a number of loan or support schemes available for students in the UK, other countries in the European Union & from the European Economic Area (EEA) - Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein - for various types of education & training in Britain. 

UK students, administrators and parents can get detailed information on student loans, tuition fees and other financial support from the DfES Student Support site. There are separate sections for Part time students, Lone parents, Disabled students, Postgraduate students, Independent ('Mature') Students.

Non-UK EU students can apply for help with tuition fees but are not eligible for a UK student loan, supplementary grants, hardship loans or Access Funds.

Higher fee, loan and grant rates;
Higher income threshold before your parents or husband or wife or partner (family) are expected to support you financially;
Age restrictions on Dependants' grants removed;
Age restrictions on grants for travel removed

Pilot scheme for repayment of student loans for teachers of shortage subjects.
